By creating an account or using Dewi (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms constitute a binding agreement between you and Anchored Development Co. ("ADC", "we", "us", or "our"), a sole proprietorship operating in Nova Scotia, Canada.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your province, territory, or state) to create a Dewi teacher account. By creating an account you represent that you meet this requirement and that you are a teacher, librarian, or school staff member setting up Dewi for classroom or school use.
Students do not create their own accounts. A teacher sets up a classroom code and usernames for their students; students access Dewi using that code and username only. The teacher account holder is responsible for all classroom setup, including choosing appropriate (non-identifying) usernames for students, and for supervising student use of the Service consistent with their school's policies.

Features may be added, modified, or removed at any time. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of material changes.
Solo Teacher plan: $4.99 CAD (or USD equivalent) per month, billed to an individual teacher. Free tier includes up to 5 books catalogued; the Solo subscription removes that limit and unlocks the full literacy activity library.
School plan: $499 CAD (or USD equivalent) per year, covering up to 25 teachers at one school under a single invoice.
Merchant of Record: All billing, payment processing, and associated taxes are handled by Freemius Inc. on our behalf. Freemius is the Merchant of Record for all transactions and their name may appear on your billing statement. By subscribing, you agree to Freemius' terms of service in addition to these Terms.
Renewals: Solo subscriptions renew monthly; School plan subscriptions renew annually, unless cancelled. You can cancel at any time through your account settings or by contacting [email protected].
Refunds: Solo Teacher subscriptions carry a 30-day money-back guarantee from date of purchase. School plan subscriptions may be cancelled within 14 days of purchase for a full refund; after 14 days, the annual fee is non-refundable for the remainder of that term, though you may still cancel to prevent renewal.

Dewi is designed so that no student personal information is ever required to use the Service — students are identified only by a teacher-assigned username and classroom code. The teacher account holder is responsible for:

You retain ownership of any content you create within the Service (e.g., catalogue notes, custom classroom organization). By using the Service, you grant ADC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, and process your content solely to provide the Service to you.
Book metadata (title, author, cover, genre) is retrieved from Open Library, Google Books, and other third-party library databases. This data is provided for convenience and is not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, or current — always verify critical details (e.g. edition, ISBN) independently if it matters for your purposes. Device inventory information you enter (serial numbers, purchase year, condition) is only as accurate as what you or your school provides.
The Dewi name, logo, design, code, and all content we create (excluding your user-generated content and third-party book data) are the property of Anchored Development Co. and are protected by Canadian and international intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
Literacy activities and reading suggestions provided through Dewi are for general classroom use and do not constitute professional educational, psychological, or medical advice. Use your professional judgment for students with specific learning needs.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ADC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF DATA OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF $50 CAD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. You may close your account by contacting [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, including entering identifying student information in violation of Section 5 or 6.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. We will handle your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Nova Scotia and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any dispute arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Nova Scotia.
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify account holders of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
